This is a dream I had on November 6th 2023.
It was so wild. So damn vivid. And after doing some research I can see why my mind would whip this up, or if it's trying to tell me something.

I woke up in my room in my hometown in New York to get ready for work. It's about 6 AM. I chatted with my brother Jonathan in the basement eating breakfast. I don't remember what.
When I went upstairs I saw mom and the time on the old digital clock with red numbers above the TV was before noon. I was in disbelief- I was late! I talked to Jonathan for that long and I’m already late. I was debating should I even go to work for 2 more hours?
I also recall a bald guy with a hoodie entering my room through my window, dropping off a package, and leaving through my bedroom door… So that's that.
I was at a school bus drop off/pick up spot (I don't remember driving there). It wasn't the school I work at, but I did see one of the associate principles, some dude who's supposed to be the superintendent and the bookkeeper I work with, who was in complete shock.
The principals were chattering on the phone nervous. I asked what's wrong and they said “it's under control…” with an uneasy crack to their voice.
Apparently time changed for everyone. Its supposed to be sunrise 7 AM but the time changed to noon, causing buses and kids to be late to school or not attending at all.
The bookkeeper pulled me aside and presented me crystals with prices on them. Pretty selection, mostly blues and purples. She began offering to either give or sell them to me, but I politely decline as I have my own (my crystal pouch, but i never held them in my dream).
Then shortly after I hear the emergency siren go off.
Looking up in the sky we see a dark cloud approaching us. We all stare at it, it was almost black. Then it started emitting purple lightning, striking the pavement, missing us by a couple of feet.
Acting fast, I held the door open for the screaming kids to run inside the school and seek shelter. They do so, following each other or other teachers. So I went a separate way, hiding in a big metal cabinet in a kitchen watching the purple lightning struck the courtyard beside me. (Metal conducts lightning so... would I be safe in there or am I making things worse?)
The purple lightning looked beautiful, like from a fantasy realm, and it sounded real, felt real with the building shaking. But I woke up terrified with my body hot and in panic mode. It was like the end of the world.
The dream felt very cinematic. Almost like I was in War of the Worlds.
For sure I would love to use this dream as some sort of inspiration for a scene in one of my stories, or a entirely new story.

That morning I researched the dream of purple lightning, and I bolded parts that struct to me (aha!) :
Lightning storm dream meaning
Lightning storms in dreams can symbolize anger and frustration, but they can also be indicators of a person’s passion, inspiration, and desire to make things happen. Dreaming of lightning can also symbolize power or control; it may be a sign that you need to exert yourself more at work or in your personal life.
Okay so what does that mean for me?
My passion is story. Art. Creative things. Out of this world into a fictional one. I'm trying to write a book, read a book series, and keep up with Marvel, The Boys, drawing for my internship. My mind is... in the clouds.
Continuing.
Running Away From Lightning Dream
Running away from lightning in a dream often suggests fear or worry in waking life. It may signal that you’re attempting to avoid a difficult situation, instead of confronting it. You could feel threatened or anxious about a particular issue, and these concerns are manifesting in your dreams as an image of imminent danger that you’re trying to escape from – the lightning. Sometimes, a dream of running from lightning can also symbolize an avoidance tendency. You might be unwilling to deal with emotions or situations that make you uncomfortable, manifesting in your dream as an urge to flee from the lightning.
I mean I ran away cause it was f**king attacking me. None of us got hurt though, which is great. But holy s**t, the odds of being struck by lightning is insane. Why would I want the kids to get zapped?
Why the hell would I jump in there???
Yes, its a dream. Dreams are symbolic. So I got to thinking.
I have anxiety. Anxiety that holds me back.
I'm at a point of my life I'm trying to figure my s**t out. A year after graduation, I'm doing what I don't really want to do as my full-time job and what I thought I wanted to do in an internship. Both, thankfully, I'm skilled at and doing stellar work.
But it can be better. The school can help me with the issues I addressed x amount of times, and the interns can be more involved and hype about the project.
Anyways.
Purple lightning dream meaning
In dreams, purple lightning is a sign of prosperity and success. It is said that this dream is more likely to occur if you are in a difficult economic situation. This dream indicates people who are waiting for good news and opportunities to appear. They will be positive and successful in their endeavors.
Hell yeah.
Hell yeah to being stuck in this s**ty job market and hell yeah to a good sign. Cool.
But of course I'm a firm believer if you want to make things happen you gotta act.
Note that I had this dream about two weeks ago. I met with a career counselor, had a couple of adventures, brainstormed ideas, tried different things, and so far last week has been a very productive and minestoney stretch for me. So I'm very happy about that and I think I'm on a clearer path :)
Lastly.
Dream of dark clouds and lightning
Raining clouds and lightning are a sign of bad luck, but darkened skies are not only a harbinger of problems. Dark clouds can be taken as an omen or warning — if you dream about them, act carefully to avoid conflict, such as asking for a second opinion when in the midst of a disagreement or trying to avoid intimate conflicts with a loved one.
Spooky... pretty spooky.
The clouds in my dream were gray-black. They looked dead. Haunted. But out of them came out a beautiful purple lightning that was undeniably powerful and deadly if it struck anyone. I feel like the sight of the clouds in the sky made my heart drop more. Whenever I see dark clouds in real life, it makes me nervous. A little sad, as if I have my own on top of my head.
But also scared.
I remember one time on my way from work I was checking out the sky. To my right was clear day, sky blue, fluffy white clouds. To my left: depression. A charcoal sky that later unleashed a fury of rain and hail that I had to cut down my speed by 20 mph to not... die.
Anyways. The dream is warning me about something. Something about avoiding conflict?
I'm not one to start s**t. Usually.
I think about it a lot though. I have intrusive thoughts about getting in peoples faces and standing my truth. But I never actually start it.
When I read "second opinion" I thought to my need of finding peoples approval. I felt like I've been on a journey alone but in reality I haven't been. I struggle with making my own decisions and putting a pause on a lot of things because I'm scared. Sometimes I wish for people to take control of the wheel and steer me in a direction they think where I see fit.
But that's just weak.

So that was my very vivid dream of the purple lighting. I almost felt like those dramatic characters in book like Poppy in From Blood and Ash tripping out after a bad dream.
At least I wasn't screaming.
But again, my body felt HOT. Like stinging, pulsing, in shock. Almost if I gotten zapped by lighting? But I don't remember.
This dream was in my head for the first couple of days but then I got over it. But I thought it'd be cool to start documenting these adventures and dissect them together. Actually it's been a while since I've dreamed so vividly like this, where I remember every little detail.
And those are the dreams I feel blessed with. I love dreams because it takes me out of this world into another of my very own. Wether it's a happy moment, a spicy moment, a spider-man moment, or a fear my life moment, I'm living it.
However weird that may be.
