High I'm Thinking - X-Men Last Stand was LIT

***I tried to write a blog post when I was high but it kinda went all over the place... enjoy the spiraling thoughts. put your seatbelt on lol (Written on Nov 20 2023.) ***

Fun story - the day before watching The Marvels I was scrolling through Disney+ and X-Men The Last Stand caught my eye. I posted on Snapchat this:

Guys... I predicted the fking future.

I saw NO spoilers whatsoever on The Marvels.

Anyways, X-Men Last Stand. Such a great superhero movie at that time. 2006. It was wild, and I feel like I can say it's like the Infinity War / Endgame at that time. So lets deep dive into some symbolism, some cool scenes, and find out why.

Magneto is crazyyy

This old man lifted the motherf*cking golden gate bridge to Alkatrez to have all his mutants cross cause they can't fly.

"Charles always wanted to build bridges," he said. *drop*

CHARGE!!!

The touch of humor in that one lady locking her car door was perfect balance of the scene.

And the guy's a savage...

On live TV he threatens the entire country about his war saying"you will not be safe. Your children will not be safe," even if your a mutant who has no part in the way, "you're choosing to die not fight back with us"

Watching Magneto dying though when you high is so dramatic, and I feel evil for laughing at a old man wearing a gladiator helmet practically have a stroke.

The scene is both funny great and performance great. For a moment my heart jumped when I just see this older man tripping in the corner of my eye. He's a healthy old man he picked up a gottam bridge.

His METALbolism is off the charts 😂😂

Now he got multiple Sclerosis.

And its weird to finally see magneto weak. He's not your typical old man. He's on a mission to bash some human skulls. Bloody homosapiensssss

Magneto is a salty guy, a racist, human hater. for the longest time. It's how we know Magneto.

But I can't remember any part of magneto getting along with a human other than his wife to do some good. (He still has the twins in this universe, when they went back in time in days of future past magneto was still gandalf)

A lot of villains have to be proven wrong to be like "okay sorry yeah. I'm over reacting. I shouldn't genocide it's ." Like... did he even try to kick it with some humans?

No.

But I still, oddly, really like this villian because he still kicks it with Charles.

Just wanted to get that off my chest 'bout Mags.

The soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard in a movie.

So Cinimatic. Violins. Superheroey. Yet its a good balance it doesnt feel cringy.

Fantastic!

A huge throw back here, this video is my FAVORITE Tomb Raider MV of all time, and the creature used the song in the final battle for it, and I got EMOTIONAL.

A GREAT TEAM UP SCENE

Of course it doesn't build up to Endgame, or the round shot of the first Avengers in NYC, but before all that MCU madness we had THIS.

THIS was our endgame back in the Just-Marvel Days.

Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Ice-Man, Cyclops, Kitty Pryde. Lined up ready to fight.

They nailed this team up scene to feel like it vibes from the comics. From superhero culture. Yet it feels kind natural. Realistic. It does.

Storm swoops in first casting her lightling to shoo the bad-mutants away.

Everyone else jumped from 100 feet, Kitty sinking in the floor with a terrified Bobboy, then Wolverine gotta climb down somehow because he'll break his metal knees so he uses his claws to slow him down as he slides down the corner.

It's so great. It's a good time.

Its so funny too how kitty look a wee bit in the line up.

BUT SHES SUCH A GOOD ADDITION TO THE TEAM.

She fights her best but she's a great person so send in through doors, bank vaults, and she goes to get the leech kid.

But hold up. Magneto goes"get inside and get the boy... and kill him"???

Magneto has to the one of the chillest villains in the mcu. like he would never kill his boy Xavier despite their political diffferences (unlike most people).

BUT A KID?!?!

I wonder what Jauggernaut would do if he couldn't kill him with his powers. He'd just be hitting a kid as a grown human man.

And thats even more fked up than this whole war going on

I HAD NIGHTMARES OF THE PORCUPINE DUDE WHEN I WAS A KID o_o

I remember it so vividly now...

In my dream, I remember someone hugging me and just like that mutant he spikes up through my body and I jerked awake like the exorcist.

It was not fun.

It was so terrifying.

My body was in fight mode. Well, more like dying mode.

Wolverine and Beast fight scene - Beastie boys unite.

SOOO GOOD! And fking funny.

Beast is going OFF and Logans like "I thought you were a diplomat."

"As Churchil said there comes a time where all men must-- " [starts swinging powerful blue fists at racists] "OH YOU GET THE POINT!"

A father doesn't want his son to have wings.

Angel's character has such an awesome and beautiful symbology that works perfectly for the movie of this film.

Even after all that angel still looking out for his dad. Never can hate him or be mad at him about his mutant opinons, and he saves his life.

Angel tried to stop his mutation by cutting himself up. Because his father worked in the government. and human who work in the government are going to hate their mutant kids. Their imperfect children.

My heart sank watching Angel get up on the strapped bed to recieve the cure :( and he wanted to talk about it again. Not even for his father.

Juggernaut BICH

Juggernaut looks lik .an action figure in this movie.

If you press his butt he will say "IM THE JAUGERNAUT BICH"

I want that toy

Fire and Ice

Elemental characters - Ice Man and Pyro.

Bobby is cool and collected, meanwhile his rebelious brother is full of hate and anger.

Kinda cliche but its super fantasy and I'm eating it up!

Plus, why not? Oppurtunity would be well missed if this was ignored.

During their battle bobby makes a shield of his mental ice shield, so he can block out the hate. Spread it to the dudes hands with his ice and head-butts him to sleep.

im so excited to see beast in the mcu

this one got his shirt open, and knows how to get prowly even as a chill guy. i want to see how they pull that off.

GENE CAN FUCKING SHRED PEOPLE.

shes killing these people just like thanos into confetti. by just looking at you

she could've kept doing it but maybe she has some mana and she's using it all on her set design. floating rocks and dibre. flames. showing out the new red outfit.

yeah, the pheonix could wipe existence if she really wanted to. i can see why xavier tried to restrain her.

OP. I'm a little afraid for the MCU though.

but at the same time... which gene are we getting? We have dark pheonix but is that an alternate timeline they were on? i didnt watch the movie in full to be honest, but i did see appocalyse.

i love gene's hair.

its exactly what i think about for Krys in my book. It almost looks natural yet unnatural. maybe rare genetic. that deep cranbery shade is very attractive, even a buisness woman can pull it off if its just coloring.

i always wondered how people like that one girl from Wild N' Out kept their hair so red without any growth in their roots.

more multiverse

i just realized too as im watching Wolverine trying to get blipped, all the universes in the mcu had to experience the blip. Multiverses? Thanos snapped half the population of the universe, not the solar system, or the multiverse?

nevermind. thats too op.

but wolverine is literally metal underneath instead of bone so he cant get shredded to death like the others. he has 100% shield underneath. and thats the other thing yes the skin gets cut but if someone drops a sword on him (nothing to op) would his animandtam bones block and bend the shield?

obsidian bones for david or krys would be dope. like real obsidian. they can still die just you know try to get around the ribs to reach the heart. technically bones not only help us move but it helps protect vital organs. our head got the most armor sheilding our brain.

when krys makes the connection with david, she uses some of her regeneration powers into david to heal his broken bones. so when david gets socked in the face he stands still. he can still get cut, stabbed in the stomach, gut his leg, but his bones are his protective shield to keep him alive for Krys's sake.

so proud of hank! United Nations Ambassador?! REPRESENTING ALL HUMANS?!?!

I don't like politics because theres so many bad opinions out there. A lot of group of people feel misrepresented by our current government. or president. like mexicans with trump. I sure faced a lot of awkward moments around that era and I'm puetro rican. it still hits me the same; we're one of the same warm climate lovers, rice and beans, beautiful colors, dancing culture.

my last name is martinez. i get mistaken for mexican a lot because its like a lot of people forget about other spanish cultures. but even so how can we distinquish latino family names?

but yeah hank represents mutants first but the president went forward with the cure without hanks approval. as weapons. thats fucked

but hell yeah. way to go furball

though it was kinda shitty for logan to walk out right when hank was going to make a speech on national tv. he probably worked very hard on that speech.

it was probably very touching.

i would like to see this movie with more blood and gore

its weird, i know but the first gore we get is angel trying to cut the slits in his back, and there's actually a fair amount of blood in the bathroom. realistic.

but during the fights scenes, theres a lot of slashing (especially from wolverine and beast). logans fight scene in the forest had to be SO BLOODY, staining his claws and his white shirt. i wonder if theres vfx arists who can edit gore into a pg 13 movie.

HALLE'S HAIRRRRR <3

storm. but I see halle berry as halle berry, not her characters. even if she makes a perfect storm. its almost like seeing ryan renolds as deadpool; made for the character. but i still see ryan a bit more than wade.

keanu reaves as john wick. both badass and sometimes when i see the guy at another night show interview i kinda see john wick more.

Wolverine is a sub

subs are super chilling. you may not know but in the school system subs are not overly obligated; theyre there when you need them. not a lot of them teach. they just sit there on their phone watching the class text. the only sub i know whos a good teacher is justin timberlake from Bad Teacher.

okay so which characters do I see for their CHARACTER, not their actor?

Xmen did the perfect balance of two different time periods in the same universe

when the characters were young mutants in their 20s, where everything started and now they're older still doing their thing. Xavier running his school and magneto being a toxic dude. and because mystique changes i guess she doesnt age.

mystique is a neat character. having the power to shapeshift into someone else, portraying them in a different energy, a differnet personality is a trip. i liked the sht she did in the first xmen, making logan blowing kisses lol

being a student in xaviers class

xavier doesnt hold any ordinary class. he talks about mutant nature, and to address to these kids the moments they might use their powers.

the use or misuse of that power

will it be used for personal or for distruicive ends?

a lot of power being used up is mostly for personal... destructive ends. these villians get so toxic they want the whole thing to perish.

then they bring up the man in the hospital bed. who has a live body but no consciousness. and xavier's like "lets take the data of a father of four and put it in this mans body"

wait how? mutants?

i mean sure that sucks he doesn't have a consciousness but why take away someone's to help someone else that we barely know? just because we can?

did the father okay this exchange??

but then I just watched the end end credit.

CHARLES CAN DO THAT SHIT. AND HE PUT HIS BODY IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS IN THAT DUDE IN THE BED!

holy shit I love this movie.

a vision of a world united - xaviers hope

i wonder how xavier does it. he uses carebro to detect mutants. does he only go to the helpless ones? what if their families still love them even with their mutation?

or is this like a boarding school they ship their kids to all-mutants camp and learn to control their abilities?

even so im sure the mutant kid would like to stay with his family if things r good.

the pheonix resurrects

I like how the pheonix / jean got in scotts head to the point he went apeshit staring hard into the ocean blasting lasers so he can probably hatch the egg under the water.

when she emerges she has this glowing light behind her, almost that of an angel. it was a cool imagery

i think the phoenix took over jeans body before she kissed him, ensuring him to get close and she can show off her powers to stop his laser eyes.

but why kill scott :( and how come she passed tf out? did jean try to fight the phoenix?

scotts death felt a little unexplained but rewatching it there might be some answers

xavier made barriers around jean's powerful mind to stabalize her powers, but in response her mind made the pheonix; a entity of her rage and resistance. but it's like two different personalities. phonenix was like the hyde to the jeckyll.

im taking a lot of notes from jean for Krys, because Krys's anger does manifest in its own ways with horns and shadowing her skin but she can always control it. unlike humans.

i absolutely love the scene how jean comes back in her body after scott being mentioned. the pheonix got horny and clawey with logan, and started sht talking xavier to him. but when she changed jean was so fragile, so scared. a little adorable too. and when she cries she's desperate to die so she wont hurt anyone.

damn :(

well. she certainly came at the right time with the cure sht going on.

the phoenix was treated more like a weapon than a person, just following magneto.

i just wonder how she got the drip.

jean also tries to break through the pehonix when xavier tried to talk to her. the pheonix dont give a shit about scott, so when xavier brought him up again, jean cried and the windows busted. JEAN. so she's conflicted wether to not be caged or to be caged. and the pheonix wants to be out.

shes so powerful she could've just killed xavier snap his head but she had to be dramatic and bring a cyclone into the house. looking deomic as sht. to slowly snap him out of existance.

theyre having an epic mental battle. shes building up resistance, but his will is failing. shes wayyy to powerful.

aand how jean looked so scared hunching her shoulders as magneto puts his arm around her taking her to a place where "no one can hurt her anymore."

Rogue

damn she cant touch people.

some people dont like to touch others. or be touched.

but its a way humans interact and communicate. handshake, yes. shoulder pat. footsies. shoving. poking. things kitty can do with bobby.

MAGNETOS POWERS R BACK

so that was my other question too; rouge has a deleted scene in. days of future past. I was like "I thought she took the cure". The cure doesn't totally work. magneto moved that chess piece by just inches so his power might just redevelop really slowly. Or even faster because he's just that powerful.

but the weed helps me think about the movie more indepthly. my attention span locks onto it and i can write good reviews for you all. and for me to blabber without actually speaking.
